The Victoria Baths opened to public in 1906 and functioned as public baths until 1994. I painted this on site in the Male Turkish Baths that leads into the 2nd class male pool, the only pool out of the 3 that is now covered with a dance floor). At the time, no females were allowed in these spaces, but some just don't take no for an answer :)

This is the most beautiful building I have ever been to and I literally gasped from it's beauty everyday when walking through its spaces. It's in serious danger of being bought and converted into flats. It's got charm and character and too much presence, if you're ever in Manchester, go and see it, you can go on a tour and help to support the preservation of this little air-pocket of history.
